Jeff Scott - Executive Director, Victoria Bc
Sarah Taylor - Admin/Volunteer Coordinator, Revelstoke BC
James Eger - Lead Instructor, Revelstoke BC
Rich Kerwin - Equipment Manager, Revelstoke BC
Josh Dueck - President, Vernon BC
Growing up in Kimberley BC, it wasn’t long before Dueck found a love for the mountains and an appreciation for the great outdoors. As a teenager and into his early adulthood he competed with the BC Freestyle Ski Team and eventually transitioned into coaching elite ski athletes.
Since his accident in 2004, Josh has shattered expectations and challenged boundaries. In the last 13 years he has represented Canada at two Paralympics, been the first sit skier to do a backflip on snow, gotten chummy with Ellen Degeneres, starred in a documentary called “Freedom Chair”, shared his journey as a motivational speaker, and started a family with his beautiful wife, Lacey, just to name a few of his many accomplishments. https://joshdueck.com/

Sabina Spahmann - Treasurer, Revelstoke BC
Born in the Yukon, raised in Alberta, and educated in Arkansas has molded Sabina’s sense of adventure. This is why she now hails from Revelstoke, BC’s hub for outdoor adventure! A skier since age 3 and an avid golfer since she was 13 makes Revelstoke the perfect place to call home. She moved to Revelstoke in 2009 and started her career in financial planning in January of 2013. She continues to build her business with Investors Group at the Revelstoke office, using an integrated approach to inspire financial confidence in her clients.
Sabina also spends time volunteering as President on the Revelstoke Golf Club’s board of directors. In 2011, at the Revelstoke Golf Club is where she met Jeff Scott while helping pilot the foundation’s first Caddyshack fundraising golf tournament. Still going strong after 7 years, the Caddyshack tournament is one of LILI’s biggest fundraisers. Her years of experience organizing the Caddyshack event, coupled with her knowledge in finance, is what prompted the easy transition to Treasurer on the LILI board of directors.
Janet Lawson - Secretary, Ottawa ONT
Having grown up on the West Coast, Janet is a lover of the rain and coniferous trees. While her perfect winter doesn’t involve snow, she is nevertheless passionate about supporting others in pursuing their dreams of skiing big mountains.
Janet first became involved with adapted sports while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Fitness Leadership at Camosun College. It was while volunteering as an Adapted Strength and Conditioning Assistant that she met Jeff Scott and was subsequently brought on board with Live it! Love it! to help out with administration. In addition to her work with Live it! Love it! Janet is a Program Coordinator with the Victoria Wheelchair Sports Club and has interned with the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
Janet strives to build community through her work and is excited whenever she can help bring people together through sport. She is an avid runner, occasional yogi, and a big fan of coffee."
Erik Hanson, Revelstoke BC
“The purpose of art is not the release of a momentary ejection of adrenaline but rather the gradual, lifelong construction of a state of wonder and serenity.”― Glenn Gould
Erik, aka “Happy” hails from Powell River, BC. In the past few years he has spent time in Tofino and Victoria, and now lives in Revelstoke as a forest fire fighter. He is passionate about Art, Social Change, Reading, Rockclimbing, Kindness, Graphic Facilitation, Surfing, Biking, Kiteboarding and skateboarding on sunny days. A natural leader and doer, Erik is founding member of extremekindness.com, a crew leader on the Monashee Unit Crew, a R&D specialist for Ocean Rodeo, A board member for “1% for the Hungry”. Erik believes that nature is our default, it perpetuates change and adventure. Mother Nature runs the healthiest operating system and it’s important to check in every once an a while. He is an active participant in LILI’s because it provides him with a chance to contribute and learn.
Ryan Sullivan, Ucluelet BC
Is he a skier, snowboarder or does he prefer GT? Legend has it that he could swim before he could walk. He’ll tell you he’s Irish but real Irishmen say he’s not, in a very stern tone. His Ellen Degeneres-equse smile makes his charm so infectious that the WHO isn’t really doing anything about it, but they are ready to if it becomes an issue. One of his favourite foods, is also one of Jeff Scotts, and that’s snack packs. The pheromones he secretes are believed, by him, to affect beings light years away, on the planet Krypton, in a slight, but measurable, way. He loves running in the mountains and helping people, and, perhaps more importantly, he loves that song Riding With Private Malone by David Ball. If you’re smiling right now, there’s a good chance, he is too.
Cofounder/Executive Director 2011-2012
